I'm so bored and I'm trying to avoid vaccuuming... I really hate vaccuuming.

1) What will LO call their grandparents?

2) What is one meal you make that reminds you of someone from your past?

3) Summer or fall?

1) My mom is undecided, but it's leaning towards Gramma. My dad will be Pop-Pop, it's a family tradition. DH's mom is Grandma and his dad will be Pop.

2) Vegetable soup. My Pop-Pop made the best vegetable soup and I keep trying to recreate it, but I can't because I don't have my own garden. He made huge batches of it in late summer and canned them. It's the simplest soup ever... ground beef, tomatoes and tons of veggies. That's it. No fancy schmancy broth or designer veggies. I need to figure out a way to have a garden next summer.

3) Fall. I love it. Crunchy leaves, hoodies with boots, bonfire, high school football... It also means the fair is coming and I can't wait for the fair. I've decided I can eat ALL the food at the fair. I'm planning to schedule my October doctor's appointment so it doesn't reflect what happens at the fair. Fried pickles, corndogs, funnel cake, apple dumplings with cinnamon ice cream... oh lawdy.

4) Hockey. I can't watch much football, it's too stop and go for me and I get bored. I will say I'm a Steelers fan and if they're on I'll watch. I love high school football too, but it was ingrained in me growing up because my school district was really successful. They were in USA today and had their own box of cereal! 

We're such a hockey household - it's on ALL the time once the season starts. I'm a huge Bruins fan and H is a Rangers fan, but he'll root for the Bruins if the Rangers aren't on. I'm loud and obnoxious at local AHL games. I've actually gotten dirty looks from other fans because of that.

DD is terrified of the vaccum so I don't get to as much as I would like :-S

1. She calls all her Grandpas Grandpa fill in the blank except my step dad is just Grandpa and FIL is Papa. She calls my mom momom, FIL's wife Nana, step dad's mom Grammy and the rest Grandma fill in the blank.

2. Hmmmm I really can't think of anything. All my recipes come from my mom or have come together since DH and I have started cooking together.

3. Summer. I love warm weather and around here if it isn't summer then it is raining. I might like other seasons more when we move somewhere that actually has seasons.
4. Football. Hands down. I actually really like watching football and I love all the food and friends also DD loves it!

1. My MIL will be Avó, or as DD says VaVa and my dad will be Avô or as my DD says VuVu (these are Portuguese) and his wife will be Nana. My FIL and mom are both passed.

2. Pepper steak over rice. Used to be my favorite meal my mom made. I don't make it often because I can't whip it up as quickly as she did and its high in sodium, but I love  it.

3. Definitely Summer. I was born in the summer and never meant to be cold and bundled up.

4. Depends. I love to go watch hockey live. I like football live or on TV if it's our team. If it's not our team, I tolerate it. lol

2) Dilly Beans. Reminds me of my Grandma. She always used to make them and you put them in drinks like an Old Fashioned or a beer. Pretty yummy!

1)  My dad is Grandpa.  FIL is either Papa or Grandpa.  **Whiney vent alert**  MIL insists on being called Gammy and it drives me flippin' crazy.  It's baby talk.  Once a kid is old enough to pronounce the 'R' it should be inserted appropriately.  Do you know how ridiculous my 13 yo niece sounds saying Gammy?  MIL even has that crap personalized on things, including her RETAINER.  I refuse to say Gammy and am hoping Lucy and LO will say Grandma or something else, but I guess we'll see in time.  DH thinks I'm ridiculous for feeling so strongly about this. **End whine**

2)  Anything with dumplings reminds me of my Grandma.  

3)  Since I live in Texas now I guess I'll go with fall since summer is just boiling lava hot.

4)  Football, though an occasional hockey game is fun, too.  (Fun fact: A guy I played little league baseball with signed with the Boston Bruins this year, so I'm hoping he earns a spot and maybe I can catch him on tv.)

1) What will LO call their grandparents? My dad will be called papa my mom Grandma. His mom and step mom grandma and His dad Grandpa

2) What is one meal you make that reminds you of someone from your past? Every time I make home made mac and cheese I think of my cousin Jackie. She loved coming to our house because we made it a lot and all she ever got at home was the box kind.

3) Summer or fall? Fall : I love the weather!!! I love almost everything about it!!! I even had a fall wedding because we both like fall.

4) Hockey or football? Neither.

1) My parents want to be Nana and Papa. DHs dad wants to be Grandpa, so DHs mom will probably be Grandma, she hasn't decided yet.

2) Chicken n Dumplings reminds me of my grandma that passed away. She used to make it all the time.

3) Fall, I love wearing scarves and boots.

4) Not a sports fan, but probably football because its what DH likes.

1) So far both sets are going with grandma and grandpa. I wish my parents would come up with something fun. Maybe E will come up with his own nicknames.

3) Fall hands down. I hate hot weather and I love the changing leaves, Halloween, football, and pumpkin flavored everything!

4) I prefer football, but I only follow college football.

2) What is one meal you make that reminds you of someone from your past?  Matzoball soup for the Jewish holidays.  My Grandma makes the BEST Matzoball soup ever.

3) Summer or fall?  Summer, hands down.  School's out and the possibilities are endless.  

4) Hockey or football?  Ugh...I would say football if it were just the pro games, but DH watches a lot of college games too and I can't stand those.

Any type of Polish food will remind me of my family and growing up.

This is tough. Typically I'd say fall but living in Seattle you really learn to appreciate the sun and lack of rain in the summer. The summers here are gorgeous.

@Bobcee I live in Western WA too and I would love to say I love fall but seriously around here it is more like the wet season and the dry season and I kinda prefer the dryseason (summer)!

1) What will LO call their grandparents? N will call my parents Grammie & Grampy.  She'll call DH's dad Grandpa, and DH's mom "Vava."

2) What is one meal you make that reminds you of someone from your past?

Whenever I make meatloaf I'm reminded of my mom making it for us as kids.

3) Summer or fall? Fall- I love the color of the leaves and the cool weather.

1) What will LO call their grandparents? Mine will be Grandma and Grandpa. MIL and FIL are sometimes Grandma and Grandpa, sometimes Nana and Papa to their only grandchild, but since she can't talk yet, it's really whatever the adults call them.

2) What is one meal you make that reminds you of someone from your past? There is nothing that I cook that has been passed down. Polish sausage reminds me of my grandma, but I don't make it.

3) Summer or fall? I used to prefer summer when I lived further north, but now I'd have to say fall.

1) What will LO call their grandparents? No idea yet. We have both set of grandparents and also my grandparents will be great-grandparents. We will eventually have to figure out something to everyone and LO isn't confused.

1) My parents are Grandma and Papa T. My in-laws are Mimi and Papa.

2) "American Chop Suey" as my family called it. My Gram used to make it for dinner Saturday nights whenever we visited for the weekend. It's just elbow macaroni with a meatsauce of beef, tomato sauce, and chopped peppers and onions. My version I just sub gluten free pasta and ground turkey instead of beef. Lily gobbles it up.

1) What will LO call their grandparents?
My dad is GP and my Mom is Grambo. It started out a joke that just stuck. Poor mom. The older kids just call her Bo now.

2) What is one meal you make that reminds you of someone from your past?
I don't make it but pizza with black olives and pepperoni always remind me of when I was in high school. I would order it before I had to be back at school for football games Friday night.
